Hi from Newbie

Kim Kennedy

Hi!

I'm new to this group...well, once upon a time I belonged the FAB-
UFO mailing list some years ago.

Anyway, it's good to see the group is still so active. I don't have
any of the DVDs yet but hope to buy some soon. I've been reading
many of your older posts about the various episodes. Thanks for
bringing back so many fond memorieies! I loved the show when I was a
teenager and had the biggest crush on Paul Foster. :D

I've been reading a lot of the wonderful fics in the SHADO Library
and my one disappointment is that the show's fanfic writers don't
like my fave guy as I can't find any "Paul" stories. I'll keep
looking.

Kim, we all remember the series in our own way. I was 8 yrs old when I saw UFO for the first time. I had insomnia at that tender age and had a tv in my room. I saw UFO and it was love at first sight. I completely forgot it existed until just under a year ago when I saw the first DVD set. I HAD TO HAVE IT. Paul was not my favorite character either because I was in love with AYSHEA. I still remember her walk in the opening credits. LOL. That and the interceptor were all I could remember. bsl

Maybe because his acting sucked, compared to the others? (although I am a fan, too)

He was pretty bad back then, that's true. But a lot of the acting,
not just Michael Billington's, in UFO is Thunderbird puppet
standard, to be fair

Re: Hi from Newbie

I would not argue with you on that point! This may be akin to blasphemy, but I don't think even Ed Bishop always gave the best performances. I always thought George Sewell did a pretty good job, though. These are of course my own opinions, and I could be mistaken!

Thanks. I plan to buy them when I can in order to reaquaint myself
with the characters so I can write some UFO.

Any suggestions as to where I can buy the DVDs in the US?

Yes, DeepDiscountDvd.com has the lowest prices, with no

www.deepdiscountdvd.com

Also, check dvdpricesearch.com for the lowest price - usually DDD mentioned
above, but not always.

I bought mine at Barnes and Noble. You can also get them at FYE (for your entertainment). They are more expensive but you dont have to wait for them or trust the mail system during Christmas. bsl

Two questions:

1) No insurance?
2) NO CAPS LOCK?

:)
