Hi,
I'm Colonel Apecalypse... a new member of SHADO. Quite frankly, I'm Italian, and I've become a fan of this series (even if I'm still a neophyte by a technical standpoint). My very first approach was in 2003, when a local TV channel aired some episodes... and I was HOOKED forever by the '60ies design! Lately, I purchased the Italian movies in DIVX format... I'll scan the covers as soon as I can. You will like them, sure as hell! Since I hate BLOOPERS, and can't really conceive that this fantastic series gets a few ones... let's fix them through reasoning! Let's show to the world that U.F.O. is a perfect product! These are my "chops" (attempts) by the way: There are a few. Probably the most noticeable is in THE LONG SLEEP, when Straker refers to a "Miss Ross". The original script gave Catherine a last name of "Ross", but this was changed to "Fraser" prior to filming -- unfortunately, one occurance of "Ross" managed to slip by everyone involved in the production! SURNAME... WAS SHE MARRIED OR DIVORCED? THAT COULD BE HER EX- HUSBAND'S SURNAME... In IDENTIFIED, Lt. Ford tells Straker that he's been with SHADO for two years. Yet, during a flashback in CONFETTI CHECK A-OK, we see that he was with SHADO ten years ago! HE QUITTED SHADO AFTER SOME TIME, THEN RE-JOINED IT TWO YEARS BEFORE... In REFLECTIONS IN THE WATER, there is a major battle at the end, and 4 Interceptor missiles are shown to be fired, which is somewhat surprising, since there are only 3 Interceptors with 1 missile each! NEW EXPERIMENTAL INTERCEPTOR BEARING A TWO MISSILES SET. In CONFETTI CHECK A-OK, there is a shot of Straker's futuristic car pulling up to General Henderson's office. The problem is that this is a flashback scene, and was long before Straker had a futuristic car! ????? HE GOT THE PROTOTYPE AROUND THAT TIME! IS IT POSSIBLE? In THE SQUARE TRIANGLE, an Interceptor attack on an incoming UFO is called off, yet when they show the Interceptors about to return to Moonbase, their missiles have already been fired! WHO KNOWS? THEY FIRED THEM. JUST TESTING THE PYROTECNICS. In COMPUTER AFFAIR, Astronaut Mark Bradley and Gay Ellis have dinner together and are drinking a 1984 vintage wine. While not technically a blooper, many fans regard this as a mistake, as this episode seems to be early in SHADO's history, which would put it in the 1980-1981 time frame. IS THIS 'HISTORY' A *CANON* BY THE WAY? MAYBE THE SERIES IS DEPICTING A LONGER SPAN OF EVENTS... 1980-1984. MY GUESS ARE OTHER BLOOPERS OUT OF THERE? HOPE NOT! PLEASE, TELL ME MY "FIXES" ARE CORRECT, AND CONFIRM THAT THERE ARE NO MORE BLOOPERS. MANY THANKS TO EVERYONE... HOPE TO BE WELCOMED AND ANSWERED. T.C. |
Welcome to the group!
In THE RESPONSIBILITY SEAT, starting at 44:10, the girls are space-suited up, in the control sphere of Moonbase, in preparation for the impending crash of the Russian vehicle. In some of the shots, their space suit helmets (and various accessories) are painted a very light grey color. Yet in other shots, they are painted yellow. Well, I couldn't think of a plausible 'fix'. I thought I'd leave that up to you. : ) And while some of your other suggestions sound feasible, this one is a little farfetched. If, in the scenes in question, the helmets had started one color, then changed to the other color, it would be believable. But the colors alternate back and forth from gray to yellow. And the lighting in each scene doesn't appear to change. Maybe they operate more like the 'mood rings' of the seventies, and being women, their moods are constantly changing, LOL. How's that for farfetched? : )

Hi all,
I see that the bidding for the original TIMELASH script on eBay is now up to 310 pounds (590 US dollars), and the reserve *still* has not been met! This auction ends today, so we'll know how this turns out soon enough. Although I gave up on bidding on this script awhile ago, there may be some interesting developments from this auction nevertheless. I asked the seller (Danny Doyle) about what other UFO scripts he owned. He has original scripts for the episodes ORDEAL, THE SQUARE TRIANGLE, and FLIGHT PATH (all not for sale). Although I have transcriptions of all 3 of these scripts on my website, I asked if he could help me out with some missing things in the transcriptions. He's already confirmed for me a word that I could not read in my photocopy of the ORDEAL script, and he's checking to see if he's got some of the original pages from the FLIGHT PATH script that I only have "revision pages" for. If he does, I'll put the original pages in where the revision pages were, as I'd prefer to have the original version of the script on the web. Marc |

Hi all,
I see that the original TIMELASH script sold for 629 pounds, or around US$1200. The reserve price was 500 pounds. At prices like that, I see that I'll never be the owner of an original UFO script! Marc (who is certainly happy with photocopies) |

Hi all,
The item sold is a catalogue, including works by Joe Tilson, and not one of Tilson's artworks hanging in Straker's office. Actually a multiple of the "Transparency Clip-O-Matic Lips" by Joe Tilson can still be purchased at Tilson's reference gallery for multiples in London. When I inquired about availability and price early this year, they offered the Lips artwork at 3.000 GBP! The other Tilson's artwork hanging in Straker's office is "Transparency Clip-O-Matic Eye". ISOSHADO had the opportunity to meet Mr. Tilson and asked him a few questions on his two works and UFO. A full reportage with photos, questions and answers is here: www.isoshado.org ISOSHADO activities Initiatives or directly here: http://www.isoshado.org/4/4_attivita_files/joe_tilson_eye_2006/joe_tilson_2006.htm teresa ----- Original Message ----- Hi all, This is an old eBay auction, but note that this is a piece of artwork that's hanging on the walls in Straker's office: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=7702&item=170027768497 (see this photo for comparison) http://ufoseries.com/straker/strakerEaland-M.jpg Marc |

"A Question of Priorities" Why did it take so long for John to find the yacht in his room? (I have my on theory on this, but it's a bit twisted) After John dies, Mary says to Ed that she never wants to see him again. Wasn't it her fault that this accident happened in the first place, not even giving Ed just a few more minutes to see the yacht John wanted to show her. I think it should have been Ed saying to Mary that he never wants to see _her_ again. "The Psychobombs" We see Linda Simmonds in a front-on shot driving her car with the radio on. The camera switches to a close up of her hands on the steering wheel (which looks somewhat like one of those computer game steering wheels) she also seems to be sitting uncomfortably close to the steering wheel also. What is the significance of this close-up? Why does the cop sneak up on Linda while she was just sitting in the car parked off the road? It's not against the law to sit in your car. Why does the motor cycle cop stand there like a zombie other than make Linda Simmonds jump out of her skin? (Police brutality) Why is Linda unable to find her driving licence? Another person mentioned the scene where Daniel Clark chops his way through a wire mesh fence, you can see the shadow of one of the camera crew running across the picture. Kevin,
Sorry to disappoint you, but I don't see any of them like a real "blooper". About Linda Simmons: she was a psycho(-bomb) at that time, and her emotions were all messed-up. That's why her reactions seemed so obviously exaggerated. As far as the close-up shot, it shows her hands being... well, strange. As far as concerned the Policeman, who does really know? In the UFO alternative universe you CAN't park the car outside the road. I'm still pissed off by the STRAKER stuntman... GOD!
