How would SID sound now?

If UFO were remade today, how would SID sound? Would he sound like a
distinguished British man with a little reverb? Would he sound totally
computerized like a voice synthesizer?

I wonder if SID would sound slightly musical, like a vocoder. I have
some examples of vocoder music at my website, but if I were to
implement a SID voice, what would the melody be? Would it be the theme
from the TV show or something more incidental?

Leave SID alone. He/it was perfect as he/it was in the original
series. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If it gets shot at by the
Aliens, don't get Derren Nesbitt to fix it!

Man, that was probably the only aspect that I prefered in the french
version of "UFO", SID's voice sounded much more like a cross between
a "cumputer" and a "himan being" ! *

* Well... I did also like that in the french version, Straker would
often refer to Alec as "The Canadian" !

If they where, I wouldn't mind seeing Majel Barrett-Rodenberry get the part
as the voice of SID, she did well enough for four (4) series of Star Trek as
the computer voice.
