Hello everyone.
I just joined the list. Thank you Marc for helping me out- I've tried the pipex subscription sereral times and have had no luck. I can't wait to get my first digest and see what level of detail you go into. I'll be re-watching episodes for ever. I have been a fan of the series for a long time but have only managed to tape a handful from the TV and have volume 6 of theChannel 5 editions. I had the last one too but lent it out, never to see it again, so I totally flipped out when I came across all of the new ones. I got4 volumes from Tower Record in Piccadilly Circus and saw them two days later for half the price in HMV. I took them back and was able to get another two volumes!! I also recently found the two Warner novels by Robert Miallin really good condition for £1.00 each. ( I'm not totally mean but Value is important to me) I don't want to say everything in my first posting but I am really interested in the show and hope to contribute in any way I can to the discussion. Having recently been able to see more episides that I have only read about (in the Boxtree publication by Chris Drake) I started to tell everyone I know how amazing the show is. A guy I know does a magazine about 60's music but is always looking for interesting groovy bits. I offered to write an article about UFO and have been given the go-ahead to do about 4 sides. I am really excited about doing it and have been to the site for a lot of information. I'd really like to know peoples favourite episodes and characters which would give me a good idea of what to focus on. Over & Out, for now, Liz. Well, I'm sure the archives are full of useful insights into the type of info you need. 8-) My favorite ep is...<drum roll please> "Parrrrruuuummmm"..........TIMELASH .. I have it on video and S8mm film too... 8-D But there are no bad eps in my opinion. Some better than others for sure but I like em all. Its a great series. Favorite character? Hmmmm, well, I spose it would have to be Ed Bishop of course. He makes a good commander. Cool guy too. BTW, Yuchtar wrote: >Fave character - Col Paul Foster (it's the chest hair, what can I say? ><siiiiiiiiiiigh>) <Tiger mumbling and grumbling> LOL Believe me Liz and Andy, I have my reasons... ,<snicker> Welcome to the list. 8-) David ( aka Tiger ) [hidden email] |

Liz - welcome to the group! Yes, we had some nasty reliability
problems on PIPEX, because the person who was running the list quit his job and is still trying to get a new listserver running at his new job. However, we're on eGroups now, and most likely won't move until eGroups becomes unreliable or makes unacceptable changes to its policies. As for people's favorite things about UFO, you should check out Lieve Peten's UFO Poll, which shows the poll results of 160 UFO fans -- probably the biggest UFO poll ever conducted. Here is the results page: http://www.misterpoll.com/results.wga?id=3756508872 And congratulations on being able to write an article on UFO! Don't hesitate to ask us for questions, as we're a wealth of information... :-) However, I wouldn't depend too much on the Chris Drake's "UFO & Space:1999" book for information, because a lot of stuff in that book is speculative or just plain wrong. So if in doubt, ask! -- Marc Martin, [hidden email] |
