Hi there
I've been in Fiuggi Last weekend for the presentation of Italian DVD.
The DVD boxsets (episodes will be splitted in two boxsets and sold
as "limited edition" and "normal edition")were not ready for the
Fiuggi Convention. It was only possible to preorder the first boxset
in "limited edition" version.
A Carlton representative was present.
As you know ISOSHADO has been involved in the production as whe
provided "data" and "images" for the booklet and some extras but we
do not know at the moment the final results.
We have no economical return from the sell so my opinion is has much
as possible neutral.
I had the opportunity to see in a private demonstration the first
disc and at glance I had a very good feeling.
The DVD starts showing 3 ufos approaching the Earth.
The interactive menu in 3D computer graphics reproduces the Command
Room of Moon Base, corridors, and the lauch room.
Selecting one episode view moves from Command to the Launch.
Video source is the same used for Carlton DVD.
Audio is selectable for each episode depending on the availability up
to 3 version Italian RAI/Italian TSI/English.
The subtitles can be completely switched off. The default mode
is "on" in the scenes deleted in the italian broadcasting.
In the extra section will be available the italian feature film
trailers (I did not see because they are not in the 1 Disc).
All the Papini album pages are available in the merchandising
selection in Disc 1.
There is a nice opportunity to see the deleted scenes in Identified.
The cutted version and the restored version run conterporary on the
screen in tho subcreens.
I did not see the ROM extras but acoording to the description there
is a 26 pages description of the episodes based on Carlton contribute.
Somewhere there will be an unrelesed interview to Ed Bishop performed
3 years ago in DeepCon 1 convention (Fiuggi) plus an integration
released in the actual convention.
Finally, I think that www.dvd.it has an error because on 15 April
only Boxset 1 will be available (we are still preparing the text for
the 16 page booklet). So 9 discs (or 8 for the normal version) must
be read as 5 (4).
Regards
Angelo Zumbo - ISOSHADO
