How are these presented? Just pics or any moving film stuff? And is
the cut bit with Carlin and Maxwell on there?

The entire opening sequence -- from when Carlin sees the UFO in the forest
until the Rolls Royce explodes -- is shown as one continuous scene.
Althoug only a few seconds was added to this whole sequence. The
scene of Jean after is shot is different, Carlin getting shot is much
longer, one of the escort motorcyclists is shown dead on the ground,
and Straker is shown for a longer period of time after he is thrown
from the Rolls Royce.

Also, that improv drumming at the beginning is longer than it was
before, because this scene is longer.

I wonder if they found in the vaults the alternate cut like this
(complete), or it was reconstructed? All of the edits with the new
footage look good EXCEPT for the motorcyclist, which doesn't seem to
be a clean edit.

Also, having seen this episode a zillion times before, the new
footage seems really out of place -- all of it's pretty bloody, so it
looks like scenes from a cheesy horror movie spliced into UFO!

The alternate closing sequence is also presented as film, but since
this is simply a shorter version of the original (nothing new), this
isn't very interesting.

For EXPOSED, there are some extended sequences with Foster talking to
his boss at the Ventura Aircraft Company, and then with Jackson.
Unfortunately, the dialog track is missing for the new parts, so the
sound cuts out and you don't know what they are saying. According to
consultant Chris Bentley, these sequences were supposed to allow the
option for having subtitles with the dialog from the original script,
but for some reason this didn't happen.

All of the remaining missing scenes are represented with photographs
and text from the original scripts.

Is it worth getting this DVD for these cut scenes if I have all the
eps on viddy?
And what about the cut Carlin / Maxwell stuff?

Probably not, although they are of interest. The major problem with
them is that there is no dialogue soundtrack for most of them.
Carlton were supplied with script extracts from which they could have
included in-vision subtitles, but for some reason chose not to.

However... you should buy the DVDs anyway, simply because you will
find the difference in quality compared to the video releases
staggering!
