Hi everybody,
The actual real-life co-incidence as to why they might need to have static-
resistant hairpieces..... Static electricity is a VERY real hazard,
especially in an aerospace environment.
The creators of U.F.O. no doubt wanted to have at least something that was a
real condition associated with the otherwise futurific aspects of the
show....
Static electricity can be DEADLY where space activities are concerned.
Apollo 1 (capsule) was destroyed during a test of the capsule's oxygen
system, due to an electrical discharge while the apparatus was fully
pressurized in a 100 percent oxygen atmosphere...
Marc, you no doubt are very well aware of this already.... This is only for
those who are not knowledgeable concerning such things here, especially the
younger fans.
