Hi ,
Can anybody tell me where I can get detailed photos of the interceptor body markings /writing etc. I am customising a "dinky" interceptor I had as a boy, for my son.It is sprayed white now ( instead of green) but before I put it back together,it would be nice to get the lettering and markings on the body right too. I say this because I have gone to the trouble of getting the cockpit exactly as on TV ( I freeze framed the DVD ! ) PLEASE can somebody help as my son is driving me mad with "when will it be finnished Dad?!" Thanks in advance. Tromokika. |

It gives you a general idea of the markings, although I'm not sure how detailed you can get with a Dinky toy: http://ufoseries.com/hardware/interceptors-X.jpg Also, here is a photo of what another modeller did: http://www.ufoseries.com/models/studio2interceptorAngle.jpg http://www.ufoseries.com/models/studio2interceptorBody.jpg Marc |

Here are those Interceptor photos: http://ufoseries.com/interceptor Some of these are really large files, to give enough resolution to read the markings. Also, some of the photos were taken around the time UFO was made, while others were taken years later, so the model is worse shape. Marc |
Hi Marc, All
These photos are great, even larger and more detailed than the last versions you posted. Thanks ever so much :) Best to all, Griff -----Original Message----- Marc Martin wrote: >> Can anybody tell me where I can get detailed photos of the >> interceptor >> body markings /writing etc. > > I've got some photos somewhere... Hi Marc,
You mention in your FAQ's page under Q9. Why do the Interceptors have only one missile? Quote, "Incidentally, while the series was in pre-production, the original intent as described in pre-production memos was that each Interceptor missile would break apart into ten smaller pieces and then create a blanket detonation which the UFO would hopefully pass through. However, the special effects in the series do not really support this description." Do you have a copy of the actual text? The reason is that I am 'reverse-engineering' a technical illustration (ghosted cutaway - A more involved version, but similar to this: http://www.griffwason.com/gw_pages/electric_motor10.htm) of an Interceptor Missile (with 10 mini nukes ala cluster bomb arrangement), and a full Interceptor using my engineering background, and also I have flown the concept, and had much equipment and instrumentation advice from some folks I know inthe aerospace industry (Lockheed Martin) who would be the kind of folks who would be likely to be asked to develop the technology is this was 'real-life' - (It's great as some are actual UFO fans!) Any help appreciated. Best regards, Griff |

As for the text about the Interceptor missiles breaking up, I'll have to find that -- the UFO writer's guide was in an old issue of Fanderson's FAB magazine. The issue is still available as a back-issue to members, but once it goes out of print I'll ask if I can add that to my website. Marc |
Hi
Oh, it's just that some of the pictures seem far larger resolution than the previous batch you posted, but the images are the same... unless I'm going completely nuts :) That's great info, you wouldn't happen to know which FAB Issue #? I have all of them. That's great and thanks. Griff -----Original Message----- > These photos are great, even larger and more detailed than the last > versions you posted. But those images have been sitting there since August 2005. > That's great info, you wouldn't happen to know which FAB Issue #? I have > all of them. The UFO writers guide was in FAB 28 and FAB 29, so it's in one of those. Marc |

Not as yet, but I am working on a 'reversed-engineered' SHADO Interceptor and
Missile. Maybe I'll do other UFO illustrations if there is sufficient interest :) Best to all, Griff -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of croprobz Sent: Friday, March 17, 2006 11:28 AM To: [hidden email] Subject: [SHADO] Re: Another Interceptor Question --- In [hidden email], "Griff" <griff@...> wrote: > > http://www.griffwason.com/gw_pages/electric_motor10.htm) This is great Griff, do you have any done of UFO hardware?
