Is "Remingtion Steele" a de facto spin off o "UFO"

Remington Steele, the show of the 1980s has been called a UFO spin off. Comments?

I used to watch Remington Steele, and must admit that apart from "Murder She Wrote", I can't think of a show more diametrically and extremely opposite or reciprocal to UFO...

BTW, Who said RM is a de facto spin off o "UFO" ... I would guess someone who has only seen one - and not both - of the shows.
