It's a shame things have changed SOOOOOO much.......

XXCCXXCCXXCC
I first saw my first episode of UFO in 1974-75(?) and from that
first half hour fell in love with the show. It used to come on on
Sundays at 10:30 pm, but I was allowed to stay up and watch it. Back
then, there was no violence (to speak of-explicit), sex or even
curse words. That's why my mom let me stay up and watch it.

In 1995, when the Sci-Fi channel started running the series, I sat
down with my kids to watch the premiere with them. Of course, they
thought it was stupid and it didn't make any sense. Which means that
it lacked sex, curse words, and bare skin.

Oh, I sure do miss those days.

Sigh......

True. But did you tell them about the violence and drug-taking? ;-)

James,

To be honest with you, I don't remember any drug
taking.....selective memory perhaps or the toll of 30 years since
first viewing the show. Hmmh.

I was about 10 when UFO first debuted. It aired at 3am in New Orleans. My
mom caught me but i continued watching it. NOw i am 42 and amazed it was on the
air at all. It was more thought provoking than I thought despite the one
missile per interceptor. I did remember the sexy walk on the opening credits. bsl

Well I was thinking, tongue-in-cheek, of the amnesia drug and
the drug that Straker & Lake give themselves in TIMELASH. But
as a matter of fact there was one episode which was either
banned for a while or shown very late at night in the UK - THE
LONG SLEEP - because two of the characters are shown to take
some sort of hallucinogenic.

I forgot about the hip scene in "Ordeal" with the wild party. If nothing
else Foster was still hung over. scott
