Hi all,
Since all of the descriptive pages for the upcoming Japanese UFO Blu-ray discs are (naturally) in Japanese, I created an English version here: http://ufoseries.com/videos/bj I'll add to this as more information becomes known. Marc |
Thanks for keeping us updated.
It sounds like an awesome set. Steve Christensen |

They will, it's just a queston of time... And different packaging (shudder, thinking of A&E creations)

Hi Marc,
I dont think that the remastering from the CO negs was done in the US, ITV wouldnt ship them overseas for that, I believe that it was done at the TCS UK facility in Middlesex. Yes, that does sound strange that they would ship the negatives to the USA... I was just going by what the manufacturers website says. Anyway, the release of these Blu-ray discs is now 8 days away! But this is a Japanese release, and I think Japanese releases are in general more expensive. After all, I recall paying US$1000 for the complete series of UFO on Japanese laserdisc back in the early 1990s. So in comparison to that, these Blu-ray discs are a bargain. :-) Marc |
Dear Marc,
Consider your 1000$ for LDs a bargain, compared to what some people I know paid ;) All the best, Branko Sent from my iPad On 27.11.2012., at 20:03, "Marc Martin" <[hidden email]> wrote: > On November 27, darthgarlic <[hidden email]> wrote: > > The price is a bit steep don't you think? > > Well, of course, when you compare it to the prices of typical > Blu-ray releases in the UK or USA. > > But this is a Japanese release, and I think Japanese releases > are in general more expensive. > > After all, I recall paying US$1000 for the complete series > of UFO on Japanese laserdisc back in the early 1990s. > So in comparison to that, these Blu-ray discs are a bargain. :-) > > Marc > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

But yes, before the UFO DVDs came out, these laserdiscs were selling for even more money than that! Although you can probably get them for much less money today... :-) Marc |

I broke out my Japanese import LD’s Most movies are in the $35 to $40 range.
Star Wars The Phantom Menace listed for $109 bought on sale for $99 (never opened, btw) Godzilla vs King Ghidorah $100 Song of the South $65 Disney short Cartoon (don’t read Japanese, not sure of the american title. $63, but has a 50% sticker, I don’t remember if I paid $31 and change or $63 was the 1/2 off price.
