Hi all,
Some of you will recall that we were discussing someone who owned a Jensen Interceptor automobile that he believed may have appeared in UFO. He just received the history file for the car, and one of the previous owners of the car was Reg Hill! See below. Marc ---- Hi Marc, It has been a long long time in coming but I finaly have the original history file on my Jensen Interceptor hpp4g and the car did belong to Reg Hill and I have quite an extensive file of correspondence between Mr Hill, Hughes of Beaconsfield ltd and Jensen motors ltd West bromwich. A lot of this correspondence is on Century 21 Pictures Limited headed paper which also has "a subsidiary of associated television corporation limited" in the heading, M.G.M. British Studios Elstreeway Borehamwood. Herts. and a telephone number of "Elstree 2000, in the top right hand corner it says "Directors Gerry Anderson Chairman Reg Hill Managing Director and Sylvia Anderson, these letters end in Yours sincerely R.E.Hill and signed by the man himself. The car looks to have been a company car because all invoices from Jensen and Hughes are addressed to R.E.Hill Esq. Century 21 pictures Ltd. M.G.M British Studios,Elstree,Borehamwood, Herts. I hope this information is useful and if you need any more just send me an email, best regards Mark. ---- |
Very cool!! I suppose it might even be the same Jensen that Alan Perry and Mike Billington make mention of Reg Hill always polishing (in the car park), in their commentary for Kill Straker.

I have a question regarding Mike Billington's son. The last time I saw a photo of him with Mike Sr he was still a youngster - so I was wondering if at Mike's death Mike Jr was released into the custodial of grandparents or an aunt perhaps? After Mike Billington's sudden death in 2005, Barbara Broccoli took care
about Mike Jnr, though I am sure that his aunt (Mike's sister) and family kept well in touch with him. Latest news is that Mike Jnr. is completing his studies in NY. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pam McCaughey" <[hidden email]> To: <[hidden email]> Sent: Monday, September 15, 2008 3:30 AM Subject: [SHADO] Re: Mike Billington's son's whereabouts > > I have a question regarding Mike Billington's son. Many thanks Teresa for the info on Mike B's son. I hope he does well in his studies - its hard to lose a parent anytime but harder still when one is so young. Pam the Canuck

I've been a lurker here for...geez, must be about 8 years now! I
rarely post anymore as everything that could be said seems to have already been said over the years. It's fun to lurk anyway. Today I have something to share however. I caught a showing of "The War Lover" on TMC today, and to my pleasant surprise Ed Bishop had a part in the movie. I haven't kept up on all his filmography like others here probably have, so it was a surprise indeed. Excepting the darker hair, that voice was unmistakeable as was the ever-present "commanding" role he seemed to fall into so well. (He only had two short scenes) The movie was dated 1962 so it was a young Edward Straker indeed. Also in the movie was a very young Michael Crawford. I wouldn't have recognized him if it weren't for the credits. Cheers, Mary |
