Just Received the UFO DVD Megaset !!

Can i say that I am SO excited??? I have been re-connected with my
all-time fave show from my childhood...UFO! Just received via
expedited mail (I couldn't wait for regular mail) the UFO DVD
Megaset with all 26 episodes...AND I've found the SHADO Yahoo! Group
(which i came across on Marc Martin's UFO series website...thank you
very much!)...so here's to engaging in some (thoughtful) discussion
once I begin watching those episodes again (with my favorite
being "Kill Straker!")....so until next time, make mine Lt. Ellis!

Enjoy! I got mine in december and finished watching them last week.

A question for the group. I'm sure I could look it up, but I'll probably get
a quicker response here.
Is the order of episodes on the DVD set the order in which they were MADE?
I know it's not the order they were broadcast in.

Hope this doesn't start a flame war if there's any disagreement on this
matter.

It's pretty close to that, but there are a couple of exceptions.

For example, the episode which introduces Foster to SHADO (EXPOSED) was
actually made later than the episode where Foster is stranded on the
moon (SURVIVAL).

Also, MINDBENDER was filmed before TIMELASH, but according to the episodes
production numbers, TIMELASH was supposed to be before MINDBENDER, and
that's the way the DVDs are ordered.

Also, the US DVD's are unique in that they order RESPONSIBILY SEAT
several episodes later than other DVD's. This is incorrect -- I presume
that A&E must have had some problem aquiring the episode in time for
their release deadline from Carlton (I remember they were having
troubles with this)

But on the whole, the DVD order is much more accurate (and I think more
satisfying) than any of the original broadcast orders.

It's almost the same as the production order, but discs 1 & 2 are
different. The first 6 episodes made were

1) Identified
2) Computer Affair
3) Flight Path
4) Survival
5) Exposed
6) Conflict

but on the DVD set, Exposed is episode 4 and Survival is episode 5.
The ITC recommended list in order of viewing them is Identified,
Exposed, Computer Affair, Flight Path, Survival and Conflict. This
makes viewing sense as Foster is recruited in episode 2 and
presumably we don't see him in Computer Affair and Flight Path
because he's off being trained.

I just got mine in December and watched them in one day..lol. I had a big UFO
marathon. Then my Mom came over last weekend and watched them again. Now she
has her own set that I ordered her.....( as if she would get mine ) :0) Amy

I got mine in July and I had to wait a whole week to watch them until my DVD
player came and I figured out how to hook it up! Watched some everyday for
over 3 months! LOL Can't get enough! ;-)

got my set from Santa, watching it on my PC most nights. My Dell
has a FANtastic DVD drive- its like watching TV. Now, I know my
wife has the 12" diecast Skydiver for me as a Valentines gift, too..

....And after training, they install him right ahead of everybody else
in line as the Commander of Moonbase....

I don't buy the specific order opinion to the series like some of the
other posters here subscribe to. Except for a few episodes, it seems to me
that they could appear in any order, and there are unspecified gaps in time
between many of them, like "Exposed" and later Foster episodes.

Outside of amazon, where's the place I could get the UFO box set in the US for under an arm and a leg? Tax time's coming up and I still get a little of that which doesn't go to everybody else!

I got mine at ebay for under $70 including shipping, as I recall, for the
complete set (8 dvds).
