Just to say hi,

I am glad I found this e-group. UFO was on of my
alltime favorite shows. Although I don't know every
piece of dialog (yet.) I remember watching when I was
a kid.

One question always plagued me...

If you have an "above top secret" millitary
installation 80 feet below a film studio. Why are all
your land based vehicles marked with the installation
logos. Hmmmm.

Better yet. As starker's office is sinking into the
ground the windown also sinks and you can tell where
the ground begins. That would mean you could see the
room / section sink into the ground from the outside.
I don't know about you... but watching a piece of a
building sink into the ground get's my curiosity up.

I don't suppose it's possible to walk in when the lift is down
in the 'basement' - I imagine there's an electronic safeguard.
But I'm sure it must be difficult to explain at times..

Yes he definitely flashes an ID card in Square Triangle too, when he
turns up at the house where the Alien gets shot. I suppose we can
assume that it's a police ID card, but in reality I suspect that
it just wasn't very well thought out .. there's the bit in Identified
as well where Straker orders the organisation Foster works for to
divert the test flight away from a UFO. Obviously, since Straker i
s the head of a top-secret organisation, as far as the outside
world is concerned he doesn't actually have any authority at all..
so I imagine that the order should have come via the Air Force or the
Civil Air Authority (via the military somehow)

Probably, but it's not likely that anyone could walk in. The door is
electronically controlled, so it would be programmed not to open unless
there was an office behind it. And Miss Ealand is normally on guard duty
outside, anyhow, to tell stray people that Mr. Straker is in conference and
they can't see him right now.
