Hi everyone!
Guess I need some help here: I received my Moon Base yesterday. Knowing that it was something "yet to be assembled", I was ready to find "some" parts in that box that had to be put together... Well; little did I know. Hundreds of little white plastic parts, no paint with it, no stickers, and, to make things perfect - a manual strictly in Japanese. Now: did I get that "one out of a hundred" - box that wasn´t filled completely, or is this what everyone else got? Is there something like an English "How to build my own Moon Base" - Manual? Did anyone manage to build it? Thanks to all of you for your help! Regards, Michael. |
Hi Michael - I too received my Moonbase model in the same condition as you
did. However, I think between my hubby and I we can get it put together. I know it looks daunting in pieces, with a very thin manual in Japanese, but we're going to give it a try. What made you think this was a Konami product? It clearly says Aoshima on
the box as well as on the website. This kit is nothing at all like the Konami trading kits, it is an actual model kit. There are no English instructions, but there are plenty of drawings that show how to assemble it in the Japanese instructions provided. It's not as complicated as it seems. Just add glue! Hi
"Some" parts in the Aosshima's moobase kit are the old parts from "Mach Barron's secret dome base" kit manufactured by Imai. Imai remolded "UFO Secret Dome Center" kit to the Mach Barron kit, and they didn't re-re-mold the moonbase kit for their last re-issue. In additon, the buyers will notice that the dome looks strange - they are not ball-shaped at all - have their "ears". This is due to Imai's remolding attempt to the "Robo-dacchi" dome kits. IMAI and Aoshima didn't re-re-mold the parts again. --- In SHADO@y..., "MCCAUG" <mccaug@n...> wrote: > I received my Moon Base yesterday. > Knowing that it was something "yet to be assembled", I was ready to > find "some" parts in that box that had to be put together... |

Hi, Pam!
Thanks for your "moral" support. Yes; I´m sure we´ll get the pieces together. After studying the manual today, I even got my first interceptor airborne today! It´ll take a while; but hey - it took Straker 10 years to get SHADO running ;-) |
