Konami Ultimate Model No 1 UFO

lunadude2001 <russell_smith@ntlworld.com>
I have been checking the HLJ site for the opening of pre-orders [that
up until today, said would open on Nov 24]for UFO Ultimate Model #1
Code: KNM13057 Series: UFO.

http://www.hlj.com/product/KNM13057

When I tuned in today to the HLJ site -- the item page above, stated
no more pre-orders were being taken. Stating that they have taken all
pre-orders they are likely to fill.

Curious to know did any one here manage to place a order and does any
one have an alternative supplier?

Probbably no one ever managed to order this. Sometimes there are
complications with products and they get delayed or even cancelled. However,
I don't think there's room for panic this time. If you can get this, you can
get it from Hobbylink. Let's just wait untill February, I am optimistic.

All the best,
Branko

According to the Starship Modeller site, the set was indeed offered
for sale/pre-order via HLJ. Those who managed to place an order will
recieve thier pre-orders. this set could end up being one of the
more collectible UFO items in a while.

Two seconds after my last post, an eMail arrived from HLJ, which
confirms that the items was available for pre-order and it has
indeed sold out.

"Good morning,

Unfortunately this item has been placed on "Order Stop" because we
have taken all the orders we can expect to fill with the amount of
the product we expect to receive. In other words, we cannot accept
any new orders for the item at this time."

Looks like the profesional eBayers beat many a fan to the punch.

If it is like the previous Konami releases, Hobby Link Japan will
indeed show it "in stock" when it is actually released... but
this may only be a one or two day window, so we'll need to be
alert!

Mark -

I'm less confident this will be the case, this time around -- as
this time the pre-order window was 12 hours max, before HLJ closed
out pre-orders. For previous Konami UFO models the pre-order window
has been 2/3 weeks.

I guess HLJ will put a a very modest quanity back on the market due
to declined cards etc. But,I think that will be no more than a
handful.

Hi all,

The person who recorded the audio for the Fanderson
conventions in the 1980's (Ralph Titterton) said that
he doesn't mind if I put up audio excerpts on my
website, so here is one of Barry Gray singing to
the tune of "UFO":

Barry Gray at Fanderson 82

Griff
Thanks Marc,

I always heard that Barry Gray had a particularly wicked sense of
humour. Ed and Barry must have "bought the house down" wherever they
went for their sustenance...

Thanks so much... really cheered me up...

Best to all :)

Pre - Orders back-up for Konami Ultimate Model No 1 UFO

HLJ have secured a further modest amount of product and pre-orders
have re-opened [I managed to order a few moments ago!].

http://www.hlj.com/product/KNM13057

I would suggest if any one needs this to dive in.

I understand that the Gay Ellis chase figure [from the very first
Konami set] is to be re-released as bubble pack item and will be
availble again soon.
