The one where Straker gets shot in the face on the Harrington lot, but
it turns out to be a stunt-double... What episode is it from, and where in it is it ? Not that I have a fixation on it, but I've just realised, after watching the episodes quite a few times since getting the DVD set, that this scene doesn't seem to be anywhere on it. Was it edited out, for this set ? |
Hi,
This episode is "The Responsibility Seat". That scene is near the beginningjust after Straker as finished his interview with Jo Frazer. Hope this helps... ... any chance it was edited off of the DVD sets ? http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0000687BN.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg --- In [hidden email], "Griff" <griff@g...> wrote: > Hi, > > This episode is "The Responsibility Seat". You can watch the stunt-double holding his hands before his face at 6:58 in THE RESPONSIBILTY SEAT (which is, BTW, on Set 2 of the American release, not on Set 1!). Christian |
... errrr... my "bad"...
That scene IS on the DVD... I really don't know how I could have missed it ! No, that one is NOT one of my favorite episodes... but even with that, I still watched it a few times since I got the set... And even as far as skipping some of the bits that I like less in an episode... I never do that when first watching an episode or when I watch it for the first time in years ! ... sorry about that... Mind you, they did edit Ed coughing up blood (after the car crash) and some of the blood in the carlin shooting in the pilot episode but they at least include it in the bonus footage. * * By the way... NO, I ma not a big fan of "blood scenes", just that any form of after-the-fact-editing bugs me to no end, LOL. The second of audio missing from "Destruction", was it anything significant or just a technical glitch ? --- In [hidden email], "Christian J." <memorymetropolis@y...> wrote: > > > ... any chance it was edited off of the DVD sets ? > > > > http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0000687BN.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg > > No, it wasn't edited out, neither from the American nor from the > British release (checked it). It was just when they did the restoration for the DVDs did they find that extra footage which nobody had ever seen. There were certainly other scenes which were filmed for UFO but never made it into the final cut, but I guess those pieces of film no longer exist. > The second of audio missing from "Destruction", was it anything > significant or just a technical glitch ? It's just a short technical glitch -- it doesn't occur on the UK DVDs, so I assume that it must have been an error made by A&E during the mastering of the DVDs. Marc |

If this footage survived, there might be more, somewhere! I was watching 'CCA-OK' last night and was thinking, were the sets being dismantled for the move to Pinewood? I can't recall the production order, but I believe it wasn't the last one filmed at MGM, which I think was 'Subsmash'. However, seeing as in this latter ep., the main control room isn't seen, perhaps it was being packed away? Would've saved alot of effort!! Maybe these scenes were shot later and added to 'CCA-OK' subsequently (?) Sarah |

... they had it on the french versions that were aired (coughing up
the blood). --- In [hidden email], Marc Martin <marc@u...> wrote: > > Mind you, they did edit Ed coughing up blood (after the car crash) > > and some of the blood in the carlin shooting in the pilot episode but > > they at least include it in the bonus footage. * > > That wasn't a recently done edit -- they edited that scene out of > the episode back in 1969, before it was ever broadcast!
