MY THOUGHTS ON DESTRUCTION

I do not think that UFO was try to destroy the world. It
would have waited until fraction of the nerve gas was destroyed, Then
they would have destroyed the fraction of the world they wanted.

Perhaps it was trying to create a situation where different groups of
humans blamedeach othetr for the gas attack, and in the resulting war
men had eough to do fighgting each other and SHADO would be badly
hampered and the aliens could do what they wanted again like before
SHADO started.

I didn't note the UFO necessarily waiting any length of time before
attacking. What I did note is that they're exceptionally bad shots
(as are we). So much for being a hundred years more advanced than us.

What gets me about this episode is that the ship goes to battle
stations, yet the guys continue to drop the nerve gas per procedure.
If I was under attack, I'd either stop doing something that was
dangerous (i.e., taking nerve gas containers out of more protected
areas and handling them on the deck of a ship under attack) or dump
the whole load as fast as possible. But, then, maybe this is just the
way they do things in the British Navy. :^)

It suddenly occurs to me reading this that I have
forgotten what the UFOs were after. Was it the usual
story of their own planet dying and needin somewhere
else to go?

Also, do we know where they were coming from?

Well, we never knew for certain just WHY they came and we never knew
just where they came from either, although, we did get some photos of
their home world. They seemed to come after Human organs, though -
always leaving mutilated bodies behind, and the first alien we got our
hands on had human organ transplants .......

Actually, as I understand it, there were 3 different reasons given for
the UFOs. The first thought was the organ transplants. The second
thought was that the aliens were controlling humans by removing parts
of the brain (from the Cat with 10 Lives). The third thought was that
the aliens wanted to kill all humans (Destruction). One weird thing
was how the aliens didn't understand why we were shooting at them
(ESP). If any of the 3 reasons stated were why UFOs were coming, it
would seem odd that the aliens didn't think we had a right to defend
ourselves, unless they just viewed us as animals or something like that.

Well, that's what I got out of watching all the episodes last week, as
well as reading through a few websites.

If that refers to the sentence "We have no quarrel with the people of
Earth" that an alien said via a possessed human, it could mean that
the aliens came to merely take the organs that they needed and not to
harm anyone else. Perhaps the aliens guessed that "with Earth's
population at several billion and growing uncontrolledly fast, they
could spare a few". Unfortunately, humans think otherwise.

Anthony sounds just a tiny bit oversympathetic in his
defence of the aliens - you don't think he might have
benefited from a little xenotransplantation himself,
do you???

You have to kidding, right. Just because the aliens say such a lame
excuse doen't make it so. Winston Churchill said "The first casualty of war
is truth." Hitler invaded most of Europe while claiming he had no interest
in doing so. In you are going to war with someone you don't send them a
beautifully raised engraved annoucement saying "Sorry old sports, grab your
rifles and grab your sock because we shall soon be exchanging shots. Sneak
attack starts promtly at dawn. Don't be late. Your friends the Enemy
Forces. It is pure propaganda. Get use doubting their intentions and wham.
Anyone ever see the Twilight Zone episode "To Serve Man"? If you didn't
Aliens come to Earth and give us new tech and offer to take us back to their
planet and teach us. So while they are loading people in droves who what to
go one scientish has his doubts and wonders about this book that one of the
aliens is always carrying around. He ask and is told that the book is called
"To Serve Man". He is told my the others see they are a friendly race and
only wish to serve us. But he still doubts and when the alien has a accident
he manages to take photos of the book and has a friend send the writting to a
translation specialist. But as time goes by the others manage to talk him
into going to the alien world to see it for himself. Just as he is about to
board the alien spacecraft with all the other humans he see his secretary
calling to him to tell him that the book "To Serve Man" is a cook book.
Never judge a book by its cover nor an alien by his words. Look at their
deeds not words.

Well it is a possiblity. I mean if they just want the organs why take whole
bodies back. A whole body in one of those transport containers takes up more
space that just the organs would. So its either that or they are stuffing
and mounting us as trophies or museum displays. I can just see Carlin's
sister in some display case. Humanoid: Earth Female. Subspecies: Hispanic.
