Merchandising value?

Derek22464
I recently treated myself to the Australian DVD Box Set, mostly to get hold of the extras and the Fanderson documentary. This now means I have a redundant US Megaset, though I do prefer its episode running order compared to the Australian one.

Anyway, I'm thinking of selling it and I'm amazed at some of the extraordinary prices being charged online. Why is this? And how much is it really worth? (beyond what someone is willing to pay, of course)

Additionally, I saw a listing for the 1971 Annual on Ebay and picked that up for £12.50. So what, you might ask? Well, the listing said, "In good condition except for two pages where there is some writing" - this happened to be two autographs, one by Ed and the other by Dolores!

Not thinking of selling this, but any idea of what it might be worth? Less than £12.50?!

Thanks.

According to eBay, the going price for a UFO Megaset is US $48, which
doesn't seem so bad.  I have seen an occasional high price on Amazon,
but that seems to happen with things there at times, and may just
be an error.

I would think it depends on the condition, but it seems like a good condition
UFO annual would be worth at least that much, and with the autographs
even more?

Thanks, Marc.

I still don't understand the crazy price on the US Megaset on Amazon UK, but I had a feeling the Annual might be worth more than I paid for it because of the autographs.

It is in good condition for its age with no rips or tears and the spine is intact. Shame they didn't use glossy paper at the time as some of the images are great!

I would agree that the fact that it includes the autographs of two (now sadly deceased) UFO stars would increase the value of the annual significantly.

Thanks, Clare.

I was amazed that the Seller was so clueless and that there was so little interest in the auction. It did come down to a battle between me and one other, but I easily outbid them.
