More Computer Affair

the other thing that struck me was, Lt Ellis w/o purple hair and
conventional clothing. A bit startling, given her usual moonbase
outfit. And then at the end, it looks as tho she had no makeup at
all. a great look!

did we ever find out why they had the purple wigs?

The purple wigs were supposed to be something to do with stopping
static electricity I think, although it didn't appear to apply to the
men!!!!!

The purple wigs were a great set design as were the girls uniforms,
although I would have thought the mini skirt was more practical than
those leg things!!

You would hope if they ever did a UFO movie that they would keep the
sexy outfits for the women rather than what heppened when the brought
Star trek back to life and gave everyone a romper suit. HORRIBLE.

I think Gerry A. in the commentary says the wigs were just part of the
Moonbase uniforms for women.

Actually, I found it "startling" and not quite as glamorous as with the
moonbase makeup and wig.

I don't think it was ever actually "explained" but my theory is...that it
was for convenience as well as "style". It's a lot easier to plop on a wig
than to wash and style one's own hair (probably weren't allowed to use
hairspray in an "oxygen-contained" area either).

Funny that because in the Chris Bentley book he describes the female
Moonbase operator as being equipped with a mauve anti-static wig!!!!!!

I think that's merely a personal interpretation.
