Music and Kill Straker

shutt
Dear fans & SHADO operatives:

Many thanks to everyone who wrote to welcome me to the list, and to
all who shared info about the CD of music from Barry Gray's tapes.

It's exciting that A & E are announcing the UFO tapes as AVAILABLE
SOON on their BB. I have all of the 1967 Avengers tapes they
produced, and the quality really is extraordinary. Once I realized
how exceptional these tapes were, I had no qualms at all about
purchasing the entire series, even for items that I had taped off the
box myself. As it turns out, the A & E Avengers tapes restored
footage that hadn't been seen in a very long time, as well as
restoring the visual and sound dimensions of these classic shows
(which, in my opinion, like the episodes of UFO, often hold up better
than feature films of the period!)

I've been interested to see the discussion of the episode "Kill
Straker!" here. That's one of my personal favorites. Michael
Billington is my favorite UFO performer, and I always find Ed
Bishop's psychological performances absolutely riveting, so the
premise of this particular episode sets up a real tour de force.
Perhaps some of the finest moments of the entire series, in terms of
acting.

Best wishes,

Steve Shutt

Steve, where on A&E's bulletin board does it say "available soon"?
I just searched their bulletin board and did not find this statement.
All I saw was "coming in the future", which certainly does not
imply "soon".
