I certainly cannot justify spending the money again for a few extras, many of which are already available. Some extras appear to be on the disk only because they exist.I cannot get excited about SID voice tests or Invasion UFO or scenes we all know without titles.

OK I accept there are a few interesting commentaries, but as I say apart from the short section on the UFO documentary there is almost no coverage of the Century 21,effects,modelling side.Unused/destroyed rushes aside there appears no real justification for this.

Surely Alan Perry himself could have discussed this at length as he was a camera operator working alongside Harry Oakes and the effects team in Slough. While both Alan Shubrook (thank goodness for his forthcoming book) and Mike Trim are readily available for interviews and commentaries.
And is'nt the model maker who worked on UFO Eric Backman living and working in Australia.Peter Wragg is also still active and working. This is not the first time this has happened.Chris Bentley's book for example is is totally devoid of any mention of the work that went on at the Century 21 Studios.

With regard to the new DVD's I accept there are some extras that might be worthwhile and possibly provide a few surprises (like the extensive galleries),but for those of us with the other existing boxed sets there is nothing compelling about buying the Australian version.

Absolutely. In the final anaylsis, after years of preparation, what
have Umbrella come up with of real note? Two exclusive audio
commentaries. Big deal.
