Marc and the rest of SHADO,
I was glad to have found this group, thanks for the welcome message. My name is George and I was looking for a source of UFO videos in the internet and one of the sites lead me to this group. I was living in the UK (station there in the military) in 1970/71 when this program was originally televised. So I had the good fortune to see it in its first run. Since then I've seen some of the episodes back here in the US. I belong to a Dr Who group that meets to view that show once a month. We sometimes use other Sci Fi stories as fillers when the Dr Who show is not too long. I felt that this group would appreciate seeing UFO and so explains my search for UFO videos. Any help in this area would be appreciated! I personally also would like to see UFO again and I'm sure I haven't seen every episode. I am now retired from the military living and working in Northern Virginia. Where do most of this groups members live? Do you have any kind of a library of programming and is it in the NTSC format? I have found the amazon.com source, but that seems to be limited to only a few stories, are there any other sources of this program? Look at some of the program synopsis, I now realize that this show was truly ahead of its time. Several ideas presented in the show are now a reality. Sincerely, George May [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

Do they still do that? But the DVDs are coming out soon - we've been talking about that a lot lately. List members come from all over. Welcome to SHADO, George!

If you can wait until the summer, A&E Video will be releasing the first half of the series on DVD... and possibly VHS (?). If you can't, there are only 8 episodes available in America. Also, all 26 episodes will be available on DVD in the UK by June, but that would require you to have a special DVD player to view them (although apparently these can be purchased for less than $100) And of course, there always seems to be 10 people selling VHS copies made from the Japanese laserdiscs on eBay...
