Hi,

My name is Kevin, I have just joined the SHADO discussion group.
I have been a fan of the series since it first aired on ATV in 1970. All my exercise books at school were covered with sketches of Moonbase Interceptors. Very early into the series I developed a crush on Wanda Ventham which lasted for years.
I had (still have) a Dinky Moonbase interceptor model but had to make my own UFO model to fire the missile at.

I really hoped that Gerry Anderson would make another series to carry on after The Long Sleep and always thought that Space 1999 was a poor substitute.
The series still looks fantastic today. Even though I have the full series on DVD (and most episodes on VHS) it is great to see it being broadcast again on ITV4.
A few years ago I watched my VHS tapes of UFO with the colour turned off on the TV set just to get the full nostalgia effect. How sad is that?

Kevin

Hi Kevin...welcome to the group. I too am a newish member. I use to
love late Sat. nights in the early 70's when they sceened what
looked like more 'adult' episodes of UFO. I live in what was
then 'Southern Television' region.
I Still have on video tape some episodes of UFO aired
by 'TVS's' 'late night late' in the 1980's with interviews with Ed
Bishop and that famous wig. Ken
