Hi, all --
Newbie lurker here. Wanted to say how much I've really enjoyed the group thus far!
Has anyone heard anything more about the UFO big screen outing? Everything I've read leads me to believe they're actually doing something FAITHFUL as far as bringing a classic series to the cinema. It ~does~ worry me that no one's been cast yet (no surprise, but it's already into 2011 and is slated for release next year).
Having recently purchased the megaset, I have to say I'm really surprised at how creepy this series is (in a good way)! I hadn't remembered the whole organ harvesting angle from when I was a kid watching these in 1st run. VERY suspenseful indeed!
Onto the THUNDERBIRDS remake / reboot. It makes me feel somewhat better that Gerry's actually involved in this. It seems that whenever the creator/s get/s left out of the process ('The Avengers', 'The Wild, Wild West', et al), the source material gets trodden on and changed for the sake of creative licence. There's nothing at all wrong with taking something that is / was a children's show and making it more contemporary (ala Steven Moffat's take on DOCTOR WHO), but it should to remain faithful to the source material. Otherwise, why not just create your own series and be done with it?
