Very interesting - I didn't know that the plot device of Mindbender - Straker suddenly finds that he's actually an actor playing Straker in a TV series - was actually first used in the Twilight Zone!

Mindbender also played on the fears of the individual. The first man was afraid of the bandits from stories his father used to tell him. The second man had been hurt while on duty by the aliens(conjecture on my part, but it makes sense if you watch the episode enough like me.
