News from Ed Bishop & Other Interesting News

Hi All,

Helen Weber forwarded me the following e-mail from Ed Bishop:

------
At 2:12AM on Monday January 22nd my eldest daughter, Georgina, gave birth to
a baby boy Jack Michael Newell. Jack is my fourth grandchild. Three boys
and a girl. Mother and he are doing great. Wonderful to have him on the
team. Word from Germany is good Phillip had a positive meeting with
Carlton last week and on Saturday he flies to LA to discuss the project with
writers. Ongoing. Still no word about Capt. Scarlet. I see in this mornings
listings that a 30 minute radio novelty I did awhile back is being repeated
tonight at 9PM local time on BBC Radio 4. If you haven't heard it, try to
catch it through some technical miracle you can work on a computer the
mechanics of which escape me. It's called "The Wild Party" Hope all is
well. Will mail my SHADO File piece very soon! Kind Regards, ED
-------

For those of you who are new (or missed a message), Philip is an
executive at a German bank -- actually, perhaps some of our German
speakers could clarify what he is actually -- what does the following
phrase mean:

"Vorstand der SPARTA AG"

Anyways, Philip apparently has lots of money & is a big UFO fan and
wants to make a new movie based on UFO, with Ed Bishop returning to
play Straker.

BTW, on a similar note, there is *another* group who is also
interested in resurrecting UFO as a TV series, however, in this case
it appears that in order to avoid problems with tying it to the
original series, they are currently pursuing something that is merely
similar in concept. This group is currently putting together a test
trailer, and this could be ready in as little as a month. So stay
tuned for that -- one way or another the trailer will be available
for viewing on the Internet...
