I agree - it does indeed look to be a "must-have". Going by the press release it would appear to be the definitive edition. I've seen a rumour - and at this point, that's all it is, a rumour - that Network may be bringing UFO out on DVD, and as they seem to mostly do titles that Umbrella has, here's hoping...

Also, I don't think it says this on the press release,
but they are going to be different and use the ITC
recommended episode order -- IDENTIFIED then EXPOSED,
but COMPUTER AFFAIR and FLIGHT PATH halfway through
the series, and ending on TIMELASH...

I would have had Exposed follow Identified, then follow that with Compuer Affair and Flight Path. While the events in those episodes are playing out, Foster is undergoing his SHADO training, which Straker made sound so appealing. Then I'd follow Flight Path with Survival, although it does seem that Foster is put in charge of Moonbase a bit quickly, inasmuch as when the episode begins he's been the commander a while.

Interesting to end the series on Timelash. There was an article in a fanzine called Andersonic about Ed Straker that hypothesised on the character in general, and also that if Timelash was indeed the end of the series, then the ending of the episode paints a bleak picture of Ed Straker's fate. I won't go any further on that point as it may be deemed a spoiler for those of us who haven't seen the episode.

I like the ITC-recommended order, though for me "Reflections in the
Water" works best at the end, because it features the massed-UFO attack
on earth that Straker was worried about throughout the second
production block, and is a suitable crescendo to end on.
