In another group I belong to a Battle star Galactica board. I am reminded of
an old Black and White Movie/Show of a man who was a Police officer or Boutny Hunter (and no it is not Blade Runner) who is investigating a murder of a human by an Android/Robot (Nor I, Robot) only to discover in the end, that some several years ago he had been killed and was replaced as an Android/Robot. -- The fears, prejudices and limitations that we impose on ourselves must someday pass, because they are not as real as hope, tolerance and possibility. - Gene Roddenberry, Creator of "Star Trek" [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
Do you know the title of this film? It sounds remarkably like a film I saw many years ago and have been searching for for some time. I've asked many people about a film with this premise but no one I've asked has a clue about it. Any info or additional rememberances you have about it would be greatly appreciated.

Not much beyond that, I remember the guy was told near the end of the flick
that he was a robot, and had been for quite some time. Also there was a woman who it turns out also was a robot along with the two gentlemen who broke the news to him. Apparently our hero and the heroeine where a newer make of robot that for all intents and purposes they where human in every way. The film I remember was very low budget. It looked like it could have been a late '50's film but may have been a '60's film and looked older due to the low budget. As I remember there were a few people wearing the overly used uniforms from Forbidden Planet (they popped up often in many Sci Fi films as well as Twilight Zone episodes). As I recall, the futuristic outfits for the women consisted of a long satiny blouse with pumps (hey, it worked for me). As I remember, the main character (who at the end ends up being a robot) was a bigot and hated robots (before he knew he was one). This film really impresssed me. Despite its low budget they took on a rather meaty concept to convey in the story, especially considering the period in which it was made. I only saw this film once, about 35 years ago (on a UHF channel, remember UHF?). I would love to see it again. Is this the film you remember, or is it anything like it??? Anyone out there that this seems familiar to??
Been asking folks for many years but no one seems to remember this film. Brian C. That is the one Brian, that is it. And for the life of me I can't remeber
what it was called. :D On 4/15/08, Brian Clarke <[hidden email]> wrote: > > The film I remember was very low budget. Fantastic!! At least I don't have to wonder now if I made the whole thing up in my head. I was beginning to wonder when even those with vast Sci Fi film knowledge had never heard of anything like it. Now, it's just a matter of finding the film. With the use of those Forbidden Planet flight suits it was probably done by MGM, the maker of that film, or another affiliated studio. I'll have to do some digging. If I find anything I'll post it here.
