Prisoner Autograph Series

Cards Inc. have released a set of collectors' cards featuring actors who have appeared in 'The Prisoner', including Michael Billington and Wanda Ventham, if anyone is interested.

There was a problem initially with the Wanda Vantham card - there was a 'redemption card' issued initially to be substituted for the real thing, but according to Six of One the real card is now also available.

Thanks Jessica! Have you gotten these? I'm wondering if
they'll do the same thing for their UFO card series... that
is, if they ever release a UFO card series... (seems like
it's been a while since they did the UFO preview & promo
cards)

I'm no expert, but am a card collector -- they put in redemption cards when
the actual cards aren't ready to be inserted into the packs. They had to wait
a loooong time for the Patrick McGoohan cards to be signed and returned (which
is one reason I think they went the redemption card route).

There are examples (usually) on eBay -- sometimes only the redemption card --
other times, the actual autograph card.

I hinted at having Billington and Ventham sign for UFO -- it's actually a
no-brainer on Cards, Inc. part -- so hopefully the UFO cards will come out and
have those 2 in there amongst others.

I haven't heard anything lately, but the Saint card set has been delayed until
April (from Feb) -- so I think that might push everything back.

I've only got a few so far, including Jane Merrow (Responsibility Seat - Jo
Fraser) and the Wanda Ventham redemption card, which I'm still trying to
figure out what to do with! I was asking my local Forbidden Planet shop
about eth UFO card set - they stock most of the new series available in the
UK but they had no idea what I was talking about, which doesn't look
hopeful.

Unfortunately I can only get my hands on the few packets of cards that the
Forbidden Planet in Glasgow gets in, so I'm still trying to get most of the
cards.
I also asked them once about the UFO series but they didn't know what I was
talking about, which wasn't a good sign.

I did check back over the Six of One magazine that had the article about the
cards, and they have a website for Cards Inc at www.cardsinc.com where they
reckon there are scans of some of the Prisoner cards and maybe there's more
info on the UFO ones there?

Any cards I do manage to find I'll scan and post though!

Quite remarkable, really, considering that Mike had such a brief
appearance (as a thug) in Prisoner.
