Hi,
maybe because people make such mistakes? Especially when they do not really expect to be confronted with a 100% double? Straker's just human, not the uber-agent and super-soldier some stylize him to being.
So he sees the right face, and until his brain connects the wrong closing they already have engaged in fight. Rather believable.
Which daft questions?

Okay, can someone tell me why Straker in Reflections... fails to realise that Foster is no longer in his wet suit but is dressed in SHADO uniform when they split up when searching the underwater sphere? Also, I noticed Foster asks lots of daft questions in this episode and I would love to know why; was it a stab at light comedy relief? This is one of my favourite top 5 episodes so I ain't knocking it. Okay, just a bit. The use of stock footage of a torpedo being fired from presumerably the Skydiver is just tacky and cheapened the whole episode for me. Can you tell me what other episode they used stock footage of military matters? No prizes sadly...
