RE: Stand by for Action

High Cotton
Hi All-
Well I am finally back from the UK, then Wonderfest (where we premiered thenew Culttvman SF Modeling book) in Kentucky, and then a week on the beach in South Carolina. I had a great time at Stand By For Action and enjoyed meeting a few listmembers as well as Ed Bishop, Mike Trim, Alan Shubrook, Graham Bleathman, Ralph Titterton, Austin Tate, Marcus Hearn, Phil Rae and many many others. I was thrilled with the reaction that we got when the UFO comic book was announced (when the mock-up cover came on screen, the entire audience drew a sharp breath then began applauding), and appreciated all thewell wishes and interesting questions that I got from people all weekend. I hope that everyone will enjoy it when it is published next summer, and don't worry - there will be no overhaul in the format, SHADO will be SHADO and the book will remain true to the series. There will be a few new characters and vehicles (hopefully to be designed by Mike Trim), the miniseries will be set a few years in the future, and it will be a larger story arc than any of the original episodes. If the initial books sell well, we hope to turn it into a regular series. I look forward to your reactions when it hits the stands next year.
I am marshalling some photos from SBFA to send to Marc and glad to be back up and running on the list.
Hope to meet more of you at the next Fanderson show!
Anthony Taylor
