In addition to being a great Simon & Garfunkel song, this was a pretty cool
episode. The opening title freeze frame shots with the steeple chase were great. I have to wonder what that stuff really was that Culley was rolling... Aside from that skin tight jumpsuit and lions mane of hair, it would be hard to miss Ayshea coming particularly with that big metal "A" draped around her neck. The unnamed Moonbase operative looked kinda yummy. Need to evaluate in silver mini. The series could have made great use of a Steadicam. "Kinky Swedish au pair girl?" Send the kiddies to bed! Definitely send them to bed with Anne in that short peach silk robe. Just lovely. Then in that red dress... I'd gladly wake up to that from every alien abduction. Culley should have been shot much sooner for the way he treated that dog. I just hate to see animals harmed, even if it is acting. Is Straker doing a Michael Jackson/Madonna move when he rises from his desk, or is he just happy to see Ayshea? P.S. I watched SubSmash with the commentary by Ed Bishop. I must say he is both an insightful and delightful moderator. End Transmission. "Imagine a dying planet in some distant corner of the universe. Its natural resources exhausted. Its inhabitants sterile. Doomed to extinction. A situation we may one day find ourselves in, gentlemen. So they discover earth. Abundant, fertile. Able to satisfy their needs. They look upon us not with animosity, but callousness. As we look upon our animals that we depend on for food. Yes, it appears they are driven by circumstance across a billion miles of space, driven on by the greatest force in the universe - survival."

I don't recall this eps and haven't seen it for 30 or more yrs but the eps
that PO's me the most for animal cruelty is of course "The Cat with 10 Lives"............Pam ----- Original Message ----- From: The Lynx <[hidden email]> Subject: [SHADO] Random Thoughts: The Sound Of Silence |
Oh, that's coming next, as a matter of fact. The scene at the end is
pretty upsetting, but it was done so the imagination had to take over. In The Sound Of Silence, Culley is dragging the dog around by the collar, throwing a knife at it, then it winds up graphically mutilated. However, I don't blame the UFO folks. It just added to the tension.
