Random Thoughts

thelynx
As a side thought, I happened to be flipping through the channels the
other day and came across an episode of "Buck Rogers In The 25th
Century" on the Sci-Fi Channel. I had forgotten about the show which,
indeed, was a very easy thing to do. The short ending scenes that I
caught confirmed in my mind that this, in fact, should be considered
one of the worst science fiction series ever; beyond even Galactica
1980 and latter seasons of Lost In Space. However, if you Google hard
enough, you can find some interesting photos of co-star Erin Gray
(c.1960).

I think Marc asked the other day what "FAB" stood for. I didn't see
an answer so I must ask the same question. Why do they acknowledge
each other with "FAB" on the Thunderbirds and why does FAB keep
popping up in relation to Gerry Anderson?

Finally, I've added a new section to my website to store my "Random
Thoughts" series. In addition to the previous episodes I've posted
here, the shows on DVD #7 (Destruction, The Man Who Came Back, and
The Psychobombs) are now online. After Disk #8, I will go back and do
the rest, as well. Please, feel free to drop by anytime:

"Imagine a dying planet in some distant corner of the universe. Its natural resources exhausted. Its inhabitants sterile. Doomed to extinction. A situation we may one day find ourselves in, gentlemen. So they discover earth. Abundant, fertile. Able to satisfy their needs. They look upon us not with animosity, but callousness. As we look upon our animals that we depend on for food. Yes, it appears they are driven by circumstance across a billion miles of space, driven on by the greatest force in the universe - survival."

"FAB" doesn't stand for anything -- it's the same "fab" that
was used for "Fab Four" (the Beatles), and was a trendy
way to say "fabulous". This question comes up repeatedly
here, which is rather curious since nobody ever said
"FAB" in UFO... :-)

David Richards
if FAB was to have a meaning - the only one that makes sense is Firing
After-Burners - (ie proceeding with orders as fast as possible - similar to
PWOR from Stingray).

As you say, I don't think there was any intention for it to mean something,
but I kinda like my explanation :)
