Brings back a flood of memories...

Way back in 1959 I was a young 7 year old.

My parents took me for a Christmas holiday to Queensclliff,
a small town in Victoria (Australia),

One day my Mum took me for a walk down to the local wharf
(Queenscliff being a coastal town), and I saw a boat come in
to the wharf. A guy got off wearing a funny sort of navy uniform,
it was none other than Gregory Peck (as I realized years later),
there as part of the 'On The Beach' crew.

My mum and I then hopped into a large boat and went for a spin
seaward - all I can remember was going around and around a really
big black boat (the submarine used in the film).

So that's it - a memory of years past - I so wish it had of been
AP Film Studios.... :)

Cheers,

Dennis

"Imagine a dying planet in some distant corner of the universe. Its natural resources exhausted. Its inhabitants sterile. Doomed to extinction. A situation we may one day find ourselves in, gentlemen. So they discover earth. Abundant, fertile. Able to satisfy their needs. They look upon us not with animosity, but callousness. As we look upon our animals that we depend on for food. Yes, it appears they are driven by circumstance across a billion miles of space, driven on by the greatest force in the universe - survival."
