Off topic a tad, I know - but on the subject of Bond - I read one posting
this am that suggested Mike Billington had actually been up for the Bond
part at some point! Now, THAT I would have liked to have seen. I think Mike
would have made a much more virile Bond than some of the others. Connery
needed to wear a wig (a la Shatner) for the Bond role, George Lazenby just
wasn't it, the series became far too comedy oriented with Roger Moore (I
liked him better as the Saint), Timothy Dalton was terrible and much as I
appreciate Pierce Brosnan, he permitted himself to lose too too much weight
and became a mere shadow of himself as he appeared in Remington Steele -
Bond should be at least healthy looking.
As for UFO2 hitting big or small screens with some of the older characters,
I have no probs with recurring roles, cameos, etc for Messrs Bishop,
Billington, Gordeno. They will likely have moved up the ranks and become
Generals/Admirals and why not? Kirk became Admiral Kirk for the first 3 ST
movies!
