Re: David McNorris

Hi Everyone

In the UFO movie that Charles Bender may or may not
(probably may not) make - and if he did make it, it
would probably disappoint all the fans - I think that
David McNorris could possibly make a very good Ed
Straker. For a start, he is relatively unknown so it
is possible that audiences would see him as 'Ed
Straker' as opposed to 'David McNorris as Ed Straker'
or even 'David McNorris as Ed Bishop as Ed Straker' !

If I'm correct, McNorris was a featured extra in 'Star
Trek: First Contact', his Enterprise crew member was
taken over by the Borg and I believe there has even
been a novel written about his character too! McNorris
is possibly too young to play Straker but, then again,
age-wise he might be just right; he also strikes me as
having the requisite intensity and also having the
right 'eyes' to play Straker too!

McNorris is the best suggestion so far in this UFO
movie that may never get made ... Certainly better
than Tom Hanks, Ed Harris or Michael Ironside!
(Although both Harris and Ironside have the right
intensity for a UFO movie or a sci-fi movie, but maybe
not as Straker - how about Ironside as Freeman?) I
wouldn't mind either if an American played Foster or
even if SHADO HQ was based in the USA, I don't think
it'd make much of a difference!

Neil
