What is SOL (pronounced saul, or sawl)? What do the
numbers mean in as far as bearings are concerned? Does
decimal 9 mean 9/10ths of what ever SOL (Saul, or

Although I realised it was a measurement of speed related to the
speed of light, oddly, I'd never actually made the connection
with
the initials of Speed Of Light, I must admit - always thought it
was derived from 'Solar', the Sun being a source of light, of
course ..
