oy!

jess and pam -- i've read pretty much everything you two have posted and enjoyed it. i'm just kinda harried and lurkerish when RL takes the driver's seat and i can't for the life of me get anything to dribble onto a page/electrons/etc. so don't think no one's reading and enjoying!

as to the logo thing, considering the late 1960's, it's really not too odd since they were considering identifying things to the audience and not to the people in the show. unfortunately, having lived thru said times, there was a peculiar attitude among TV personnel in the States that said anything pitched at people with more than a 12 year old understanding of the world was not good TV. (believe it or not, Cleveland Amory, critic in TV Guide in the mid-60's once said one of my favorite programs was delightful, but would not succeed because it was too high brow and intelligent for the average viewer. I was 12, understood what was going on and enjoyed the show greatly. unfortunately, he was right. it only made one season. and i don't recall the name but it starred gig young and gladys cooper and a bunch of british character actors <g>) as several someone else's have pointed out, this was the Andersons' first foray into live action. it takes some adjusting to go from marionnette/puppet full sci-fantasy to live action, it needs to make a little more ground level sense.

on the whole, even given continuity glitches, the show still holds up on the whole a lot better than many others of the same time frame. even sci-fi films don't hold together as well. (ok, i watch a lot of MST3K type films. a giggle and a half, but not really functional in the "real world" )

hmmmmm -- all the logos were done in paint that only shows up for hidden cameras filming archives for later release to a TV audience? considering the rate at which SHADO doled out the amnesia drug, who was gonna recall seeing those logos anyway? pity they didn't have the little memory eraser from MIB <g> or the ability of the Q'arto android from War of the Worlds. a good smack in the forehead and "remember nothing". *giggling madly*

(can you imagine the reaction of straker to the mortax? aliens that not only want your organs but can meld with you, taking all the knowledge you had? talk about a paranoid reaction to that one -----)

ooooo k. think it's time for ryuu to stumble back into lurkerdom.

The series that ryuu can't remember the tittle of was The Rogues, which was
about two families of professionals the Flemmings and the St. Clairs who were
thieves and had been for several hundred years.
