> {{:^) I remember the Green Hornet series and like UFO it ran one year (30 episodes) and had in common with UFO the idea of heroes battling the bad guys while under a veil of secrecy from the outside world. The 'Equailer' series borrowed much from 'The Green Hornet'. I really liked the customized car which would have made James Bond 'green' with envy (sorry about the pun ;-). Doug |
Ah, but doesn't James Bond usually end up totalling his cars? At least Green Hornet's car - the Black Beauty - managed to survive throughout the series.

I just saw a ep of Green Hornet on The Action Channel of Starzs. I have to admit that it was a lot better when I was younger then it is now. Hornet is one of those shows that didn't hold up over time, even allowing for the fact that camp was expected back then.
Bond always "Borrowed"cars from the bad guys or bystanders (Live and Let Die, Golden Gun and so forth.) He almost always damaged any of the Q-Special Cars that he was given, but then that it is part of the Bond mystic, or camp if you want to call it that. Twenty thousand rounds fired, a hundred cars destroyed and he walks away brushing off his suit. Not very realistic but still fun. Now that's a series I wish they would either rerun on TV Land or
release on DVD. Bruce Lee as Kato and that great car. Bob --- In [hidden email], "Doug" <brt1227@y...> wrote: > I remember the Green Hornet series and like UFO it ran one year (30 > episodes)
"Imagine a dying planet in some distant corner of the universe. Its natural resources exhausted. Its inhabitants sterile. Doomed to extinction. A situation we may one day find ourselves in, gentlemen. So they discover earth. Abundant, fertile. Able to satisfy their needs. They look upon us not with animosity, but callousness. As we look upon our animals that we depend on for food. Yes, it appears they are driven by circumstance across a billion miles of space, driven on by the greatest force in the universe - survival."
