Re: Digest Number 2268

Mary
Marc, I realize this is off topic, but I'm really sorry to hear about your car...what a bummer. And the same goes for the computer problems. Just so you know...we here appreciate your committment to the SHADO grouplist. I have been a member (mostly a lurker) since 1994 or there abouts, and have always appreciated your posts.

I hope they get the guy...

Mary

Heh, heh...

Note that although my "UFO Series Home Page" (ufoseries.com) hasn't
been updated in more than a month, I have NOT abandoned it... it's
just that I've been "distracted" this past month with Christmas,
plus having my car stolen, troubleshooting computer problems
(all of the USB ports on my computer failed), buying a new car,
needing to update my wife's business website, etc. It's just been
one thing after another, with no time for the UFO website! :-(

2. Missed episode "Close Up"

Hi again,

I realize "Close Up" got left off the poll question because there are
a maximum of 25 answers that can be listed. But there are 26 episodes
in the the series?! I don't want to sound picky, I guess I am just so
enthusiastic about UFO, all 26 episodes. Except maybe "The Cat with
Ten Lives" - a possessed kitty pussyfooting in and out of SHADO HQ
without anybody noticing - I'm not really digging it.

3a. "Close Up" missing from best UFO episode poll

Hi Everyone, I am a new member of this group and feel the need to
express my enthusiasm for UFO the series. Has anyone else noticed
that the episode "Close Up" has been omitted from the poll on what is
the best UFO episode? Can this be corrected? There is a lot more I
want to discuss about UFO but this is a start. Thanks.

I have heard that CLOSE UP is considered by many to the be
the worst UFO episode... I don't think I share that opinion,
as some episodes (e.g., ORDEAL) seem worse to me...

Has anyone noticed the similarity between UFO and
Torchwood - top secret clandestine organisation
dedicated to protecting humankind from alien
invasion?

If this is what I think it is, there were a few posts about it a few
months ago. Where I am, we didn't get to see Torchwood.

Oh wait, I just Googled, and this is not the short-lived US show I
thought it was.

Sounds good, but it's not UFO.
