Colour Space very, very, very simplistically is the ability to
accurately record different levels of Red, Green and Blue - the primary
colours for light (with paint or ink, Yellow replaces Green as a primary
colour). A mixture of those colours make up all the other colours.

I didn't use the term "Colour Timing" but Timing (in some countries
"grading") was originally a film term now also used for video. Timing
means in postproduction, the adjustment of the relationships of the
different colours, brightness, contrast etc, etc, both to make different
shots match but also to acheive the aesthetic end result you want.

Incidentally, I wasn't meaning to be as scathing about HD as I probably
sounded in a previous post. What is unfortunate though, especially about
the BBC decision, is the gradual restriction of choice and the frequent
over hyping.
