Yes, for some reason I'm always drawn to series which "have the guts"
to end on an unhappy ending. Unfortunately, my wife is just the
opposite! She, if you can believe it, hadn't even seen an episode
of UFO until about a week ago. And then for some reason, she watched
SURVIVAL when I had on the TV. At the end, she said "I hate this
show! They killed the Alien! Foster dumped his girlfriend!" Oh
well... at least she finally *saw* an episode... :-)

Marc,
It is one of the great things about UFO that it was so realistic (if you can
use that word for a series that regularly featured green-skinned aliens
running about in red spacesuits!) I too appreciated the grittier feel of an
unhappy ending. And incidentally, that is about the only thing I liked
about that episode.
