I don't think it would matter if Joe 90 was played by
an American, although I suspect Disney might be keen
to cast a young British actor or have a young American
actor do an English accent seeing as how popular
Daniel Ratcliffe is as Harry Potter.
The only things I expect to see in a Joe 90 movie from
the original are Joe 90 with glasses, the BIG RAT, the
title sequence & theme music, the vehicle Joe & his
Dad travelled in, the fact that he works for WIN &
that he lives in a cottage - I don't ask for much, do
I? As long as you have these components, the memorable
things about a not particularly memorable series, all
you need to do is write a good story around it!
Regarding a UFO movie, it wouldn't bother me if
SHADO's base was in the United States, basically, if
it's cheap for a UFO movie to be made in England,
maybe the base will be in England, the same goes for
Australia where it's currently cheap to make movies -
does it really matter where SHADO HQ is?
It wouldn't bother me if Americans played Foster &
Freeman either, personally, I'd accept a black Foster!
I never saw Freeman as Australian, George Sewell never
really played him as an Australian, did he? Does it
matter where Freeman is from? I actually think Paul
Hogan could make a good Freeman, even though I was one
of the UFO fans who was very opposed to speculative
casting for this UFO movie we think is going to get
made! I would rather see Hogan as Freeman than Robin
Williams, I think Hogan might be quite good in a
'straight' role.
