With all this talk of movie remakes (Trek, UFO, etc...), has anyone here seen the clip of the "V" remake? Any comments...

Well, since I never watched the original "V", it would be hard to say...
watching two clips I found of the upcoming "V" remake, I can say:

* I will at least watch the first episode, if for no other reason
than it has Morena Baccarin (Firefly) in a major role. :-)

* I don't know if a "V" remake helps or hurts the potential of
a "UFO" remake?

The clips I saw were at:

I'll see it for the cast alone.

I wonder if they're going to have more aliens in it this time. I thought the original ending for the first miniseries was rather brilliant, but it's like they forgot what was supposed to happen next.

And the whole Starchild crap in the TV series was rather stupid.

It's sure a lot easier to tell which post you're referencing/responding to if there is some quoted text included.  : )

Thanks, Clay!  I thought you were referring to "V", but it has been so many years since I've seen it, I wasn't sure.

The original had the Resistance, with some help, building a communication device to signal another alien race that could help them.

Then when the second miniseries started... it was forgotten.

I just hope it's better than "Heroes".

Re: Movie Remakes

Bruce Sherman
I remember the ad campaign for it here in New York, giant posters of them saying.... They are our friends. A couple of weeks later, a large red V was painted in the poster.

Really?

There must be something wrong with me. I grew up on a healthy dosage of Battlestar and reruns of "Star Trek", and I enjoy the new stuff even more.

I guess I'm not a purist.

My father was into SciFi as well, so during the 60s we watched the
original episodes. I also watched the animated series when it
originally aired in the early 70s. And UFO, when it was first shown in
the US.
