I got one of these SHADO mobiles from Forbidden Planet on Saturday, as theyare in the sale there at the moment (in the UK, going for £19.99). I have to say I didn't really notice the paintwork until it was mentioned here,but then I did open it last night when the light was bad. Now I look at it, it looks to me like it was meant to be camouflage of some sort. I do like it though, overall, as from a distance as it sits on the shelf, it lookspretty good. I don't really know the original design enough to see any difference, I must admit.
I would've liked it to have been the Control Mobile though with satellite dish, but I am quite happy with it. At least, I think, it bears more resemblance to the original design than the Dinky ones.
Now I have to wait for Skydiver and the interceptor to come down in price too. :(
