Maybe that's because if they used the starboard side, it would read "Diver Sky," which viewers would find too confusing. Or else it wouldn't say anything (to avoid the confusion). And if you've created something as neat as SkyDiver, I'd think you want to use its name as often as you can.
Just a theory, mind you.
