Straker's ex?
In "A question of priorities," I say it's pretty clear that she thinks he's a studio head and she doesn't understand how anything in that job could be more important than saving her son's life. At least that's the way I read it. I'd have to look at it again to be sure.

Yes, he was in the military when they got married, but I think she bought the story that he'd gotten this other job (apparently with no previous film-making experience!) and he was out of the military.

Sorry. I've seen that ep more than a few times and it just doesn't look
that way to me. She knew he was still military, and the studio was just his
cover.

Maybe it's up to each person's private interpretation....but it is
glaringly obvious to me.

In my opinion it is a little bit of both. Mary was aware that her husband was in the military at one time. At the wedding several officers were there. After the divorce she knew he got a job at a film studio. Mary was very upset after the divorce so she probably could care less how he got the job. Maybe it was the reason for the divorce. He was in charge of making films for the military perhaps even secret ones. When her son was hit she was beside herself with grief. When Straker said he could take care of it Mary and her husband gave him a look that said. You , what can you do with your studio job. Mary gave him a chance , one last chance to make good. If Straker had the connections their child was saved and that was all Mary cared about. Unfortunatly we know the real story, but all Mary knows is she put it in Straker's hands and he failed miserably. HER SON DIED BECAUSE OF STRAKER. just my opinion.
