No powerDVD is a software program that decodes the DVD. Origionally when
DVD's were first out they had hardware cards to help decode and the software
was strictly a player. Nowadays, the new 2+ year old DVD drives are all
software supported.
PowerDVd is availible off the internet, it is payware. I got mine off a
company on eBay. I paid 10.00 for the full version. Not bad considering its
a $30.00 program. The company that I purchased it from is selling the full
version.
