Re:SECRET SERVICE debuts in USA

Simply because Carlton contracted BBC Resources over 18 months ago to fully restore this show and SUPERCAR and FIREBALL XL5 and then promptly decided that it was "uneconomic" to release them on DVD in their homeland. A&E Entertainment have far more business sense than Carlton[frankly, who doesn't?]and licensed all three shows for release in the States. Carlton finally saw the error of their ways and released FIREBALL XL5 on DVD back in October, but there remain huge doubts about them releasing SUPERCAR and THE SECRET SERVICE in this country. So fans should snap up both sets, both Region 0, by the way.

I received my copy of the Secret Service DVDs from
DeepDiscountDVD.com yesterday.

Excellent sound and picture quality and in stereo too. The extras are
a bit limited with a David Lane commentary on one episode and a Gerry
Anderson biography but then as it only received a partial release in
the UK and none in the USA, then the extras would be limited anyway.

Thoroughly recommend it though. Worth taking advantage of the strong
pound at the moment as well
